A Chance Meeting That Changed Lives
“Hi, do I know you?” A chance meeting of future Amway Independent Business Owners (IBOs) would change the lives of the many served by Easter Seals New York for the better.
Shivaram Kumar was pursuing his Master’s degree in Computer Science at Drexler University when he met his future wife, Anjali, at a business seminar. She was in the United States on business, traveling for American Express. The couple would come to learn that they grew up mere miles apart on the other side of the planet. Mumbai, India to be exact.
The couple quickly rose through the ranks, displaying leadership and dedication wherever they went. Kumar currently sits on the IBOAI board in addition to being a member of the BWW Management Operations Committee. The family’s success in the Amway business has allowed them the freedom and opportunity to live life as they see fit. With this newfound financial security, they chose to give back instead of resting and relaxing.
The couple donate their time and hard-earned resources to a plethora of worthy causes. Kumar is a founding member of the New Jersey based We Live To Give Foundation. The group works with developmentally challenged children such as those with Autism. The couple also support the US Dream Academy, working with at-risk children in America’s inner cities.
In addition to his family’s work in the United States and New York/New Jersey, Kumar is active in his native country of India. He sits on the Board of Advisors for the Global Success Foundation. The foundation works to improve and create employment opportunities for young and old.
The couple has three daughters, Devika, Tarika, and Ritika. You can learn more about the the Kumar family and the work they are doing for those less fortunate from their business website, http://www.kumarandanjali.com.
