Amway IBOs and Easter Seals Help to Pave the Way!
Easter Seals’ New York’s Annual Gala is always special and the 2013 “Paving the Way” event was no exception!
Easter Seals executives and staff, Board members, local government officials and community supporters gathered to honor the work of many and raise support for the valuable work that is ongoing each and every day in the Centers around New York. Hosted at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum aboard the retired aircraft carrier and National Historic Landmark, the U.S.S. Intrepid, the setting was fitting to acknowledge the contributions of those who give selflessly to help others. Colonel David Sutherland, formerly of the office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and co-founder and Chairman of the Center of Military and Veterans Community Services (Dixon Center) shared his work as a voice for active military and veterans and his partnership with Easter Seals. Amway Independent Business Owners (IBOs) were front and center to raise visibility and support for the work of Easter Seals. Their contributions ($73,000) helped raise the grand total of this year’s fundraiser to an amazing, $310,000… all to help ensure veterans, military, and people with special needs will have opportunities to live, learn, work and play.
