Bowling for a Cause

Do you like to bowl? Do you despise 7-10 splits? Amway Independent Business Owners (IBOs) Arlene and John Simeone and Durso/Simeone TEAM thought you might. On May 17th, Arlene and friends laced up their slick bowling shoes and rolled a strike for an incredible cause — Easter Seals.

To date, the team has raised more than $12,000 from the fundraiser. Money raised will go to support Easter Seals New Jersey and their wonderful services, including occupational therapy, speech and play therapy, summer camps, and more. “The day was a huge success,” says Simeone, “with over 100 registrants and lots and lots of fun.”

Arlene and her husband John have a long history of supporting the Easter Seals cause. You may remember a previous fundraiser, the Easter Seals New Jersey Walk With Me. ( Being able to give back to their community and to those less fortunate is a driving force behind their continued dedication.

For those not of the bowling persuasion, the team saw fit to have a host of other fun activities, including ping pong, billiards, video games, and an appropriate set of music for the whole family. The event was complete with food and refreshments like Amway’s own XS Energy, a smoothie stand, and copious amounts of pizza. Most importantly, and we think everyone can agree on this, there was a Venetian style dessert table stocked to the brim. Additional money was raised by raffle during the event.

The fundraiser was documented by renowned New York photographer Alicia Hansen. Check out the pictures on Flickr. To learn more about Easter Seals and its programs and services, visit
