Easter Seals New York – Walk With Me 2014

Lace up and start walking! On August 2nd, more than 500 Amway Independent Business Owners (IBOs) dusted off their walking shoes for the annual Easter Seals New York Walk With Me fundraiser at Citi Field.

For the first time ever, the Easter Seals New York Walk With Me fundraiser was held at the home of Major League Baseball’s New York Mets. Walkers who raised a certain amount of money were treated to an evening baseball game between the hometown Mets and the visiting San Francisco Giants.

This year’s event raised over $300,000 US dollars thanks in part to the hard work and dedication of spirited Amway IBOs. And as much as the Walk With Me event is fun and exhilarating, it’s equally important for the individuals with disabilities who depend upon and benefit from the monies raised. “Everyone had a great time at the walk – but we should always remember why we walk. We give of our time and money so that programs like the Bronx Child Development Center can stay in business,” said Easter Seals New York in a statement following the event.

This year’s event was sponsored by a number of major organizations, including Amway, BWW Charities, and We Live To Give. Music was provided by local DJ, Soulful Sounds.
